Albuquerque to Rialto

Home Sweet Home

I am a little behind on my blogging. Since arriving home last Thursday, it has been non-stop catching up on school and being with friends. We arrived home last Thursday night after driving close to 745 miles in just under 10 hours. The joy I felt as I came out of the desert on I 15 was incredible. After being gone for close to 5 weeks, home was such an amazing feeling. After getting home and kissing the ground, the first place I headed was to the church. Oh, how I had missed my home church. The building is coming along just fine and we are excited to be a part of what God is doing in the IE. Life is finally getting back to normal, laundry is done, room is cleaned, and I am ready to enjoy Summer now.

Little Rock to Albuquerque

Tomorrow I will do my best to update about service in Little Rock last night. It was amazing to say the least! My mind still cannot comprehend the beauty of the church! I will post pictures and do all that later. Anyways, we are sitting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have been going since 8:o0 am CST and did not stop until 9:30 pm MST. It was a nice 14.5 hour day. We drove 882 miles with just a few stops along the way. Tomorrow we will head the rest of the way home. I am thrilled beyond measure to know that I will be in my room with air conditioning and peace and quiet! I am beat and ready for bed. Until tomorrow...

Little Rock, Ar

We left Cartersville, Ga this afternoon to head to Little Rock, Ar. We drove 490 miles and passed through 3 states (Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee) before arriving in Arkansas. It seemed like it took forever, we stopped once to fill up and kept on treking. It took eight hours to get here, we lost an hour and are now only 2 hours ahead of home. The most exciting thing about today was; I am now 490 miles closer to home. We will be in service tomorrow night with Pastor Joel Holmes and the N. Little Rock church. We are excited about service. School officially started today, so between driving and doing school, the next few days will prove to be busy. I am thrilled beyond measure to have 8 weeks left of school until I am done forever (I think). Homeward bound!!!

We have had a tremendous time in Cartersville, Ga with Pastor and Sis. Pope. Yesterday Bro. George and I hung out around the house, while the Popes attended a family reunion. The Popes returned home close to 5:30 p.m.! Bro. George and myself got in the car and went with Pastor Pope to look over the land they are in the process of building on. It is a beautiful 6 acre plot right by a main road. We walked around the property, prayed over it and had a little church out there. We then concluded the evening with some food and rest.

Today we had an afternoon service which began at 3:00 p.m. We had an incredible service and the power of God fell in pre-service prayer. Throughout song service it kept building and finally it broke and for over an hour the people of New Life Tabernacle soaked up the powerful presence of God. Bro. George maneuvered deep in the Spirit as he began to pray for people! We did not have a very large group, but we had an amazing service. Bro. George than spoke for just a few minutes at the end of the service! Following the service we drove about 25 minutes to North Atlanta to eat at Pappadeaux. This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the world. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time with the Popes. Tomorrow we are heading to N. Little Rock to be with Pastor Joel Holmes on Tuesday. I am so pumped for this trip!

Yesterday afternoon I got in the car and took a drive to downtown Atlanta to eat some BBQ and look around. Our hotel was 15 miles or so from downtown, but the traffic getting there was horrible. Anyways I had a great time hanging out in Atlanta, it is a very old yet neat town. For lunch I had pulled pork, ribs, and brisket with several glasses of sweet tea. I was in the South and enjoyed every minute of it.

This morning we got up and had some lunch before leaving Atlanta to head to Cartersville to be with Pastor Vandy Pope. Bro. George has waited many years to be reunited with Pastor Pope. I have sat and listened to numerous stories being exchanged between the two of them about their days in India together. You can see the excitement in their eyes as they are having an awesome time together. We will be here till Monday before heading West(praise break. I can't wait to be HOME!!! Soon and very soon!!!

Atlanta, Ga

The Varsity

Bro. George

Inside of the church

We left Buford this morning and drove a short distance to Atlanta for service tonight. I checked us into our hotel to give Bro. George some time to pray and study for tonight's service at Truth and Victory, Pastor Keith Hood. While he took some time in the room, I journeyed to downtown Atlanta to wander around. My cousin recommended a place to eat and that I did. I met Beau at The Varsity and we ate before he took off for California, I was a little jealous. They had incredible hot dogs, of which I am an aficionado. After eating and looking around for abit, I made my way back to the hotel to get ready for church. We left for church close to 7:00 p.m. to get there in time for prayer before service. We was fixing to have church up in there. I finally had the opportunity to be in all African-American church and it was an experience!! Bro. George preached on the trial of our faith. It was powerful or as they would say "ouch". We didn't need an organ, the congregation provided the background. It was awesome! We had a great time being with the Hoods and the church in Atlanta!

Bro. Don Stewart

While many spent Memorial Day playing softball and having a great time, Bro. George and I spent our Memorial Day driving to Buford, Georgia. After arriving and getting all settled, I met up with Beau, Josh and Court Pound, and others for dinner. I went back to the room to relax for the night. However, Sis. Copeland found out we were in town and sent word for us to go to the house and NO was not an option. Bro. George and I headed to the Copelands close to 9:30 p.m. for some fellowship. We had a great time sitting around and talking. It was good to see the Pounds and be with the Copelands. Bro. Copeland asked us to join them in their last revival service with Evangelist Don Stewart. We obliged and went to be in service with them tonight. Bro. George testified for a few minutes and then Bro. Stewart preached. I have never heard him in person until tonight, and I was blown away. He preached without notes and was incredible. I will not try to explain it because I would not do it justice! However, I will say I sat there and was captivated by the powerful message concerning the blood. He brought out so many deep and rich thoughts that left me looking for a pen to write them down. After service, I dropped Bro. George off at the Copelands for some food and fellowship. I went and ate with some of the young people and then went back to the Copelands for awhile. Tomorrow we are headed into Atlanta to be with Bro. Keith Hood for service. Looking forward to a great service! Just a few more days, the countdown is on, I will be home SOON!!! I will post pictures tomorrow

Goose Creek/Columbia, Sc

Yesterday was a long day for us. Bro. Scott Smith picked us up from our hotel at 7:30 a.m., which was EARLY, to head out to Goose Creek for church. It was about a 2 hour drive to church. We got there a little early and took a quick tour of Charleston, Sc prior to church. Bro. George preached powerfully at the Goose Creek church and such an awesome presence was there. Immediately following the service, we jumped back in the car and headed back to Columbia for the afternoon service. Originally Bro. George was scheduled to preached the 3:00 p.m. service, but Bro. Smith felt to move him to the 4:00 p.m. session. Evangelist Doug Smith preached the 3:00 p.m. session. He did an incredible job and it was great to meet him for the first time. Bro. George then preached the main session and did tremendous. We had a great altar call and good move! The church fed us and all other guests following the service! It was a great time of fellowship which concluded a long day! I did not have my camera with me so there are no pictures from yesterday!

Chillin'

Since I became a bloggin' machine, I feel awkward not writing a post for a few days, so here it is. We are in North Carolina one more day before heading down to South Carolina for church on Sunday. I did some more service on my car today to get it ready for the trek back home beginning June 6th, tenatively! It has been extremely hot here, as well as storming! I am listening to the thunder roar and the lightning flash as I write! It also does not help that it is EXTREMELY hot in my room! Thank God for my towel! Anyways, I pretty much have nothing to say and have said nothing, but here is a blog post. HUGE shoutout to our LCA grads tonight (Ali, Ash B, Alex H, Stace, and Britt)!!!! Until later...

Chior practicing after service

We left Newport today and headed to Burlington to be in service tonight at the World of Pentecost with Pastor Godair. We arrived to a very comfortable room several hours before service. Bro. George decided to "take rest", while I tried to run off some of the food we have eaten over the last several days. I am not sure how much good I did though. We then got ready for service and arrived at church at 7:00 p.m. for prayer. Bro. George, Bro. Godair and myself went into the office around 7:20 and talked for a few minutes before heading out for service. It was neat to see people come together on a Wednesday night with such enthusiasm and desire. Pastor Godair handed the service over to Bro. George before 8:00 p.m. and then we had some church. Bro. George was a little tired to begin with, but then about 15-20 minutes into it, it was all over him. He was running, dancing, and preaching like a young man. The church was praising, dancing, and having a good time. He preached on increasing our faith for the miraculous. The power of God was very strong and evident there. He stopped around 8:40 to allow time for God to move and did He ever! What an awesome service! Loved being in Burlington and seeing some old friends!

Newport, Nc pt. 3

Atlantic Beach, Nc

Bro. George

The East Coast

Today was just a chill day. We are still in Newport, Nc with Bro. Erskine. We slept in a little bit today and then made a journey to Atlantic Beach, Nc. Bro. George wanted to see the coast and take a few pictures. It rained a little bit on us while we were at the beach. The water here was slightly warmer than the Pacific. After seeing the coast, had to stop by Mcdonalds to get Bro. George his #11 Filet of Fish! I think I am going to start dreaming about those things soon. At least I should get some stock in Mcdonalds. We then made our way to the church, where school was still in session. Bro. Erskine and I played some ball with the high school class. Those kids can play softball. Bro. George took a grand tour of the church during this time. I brought Bro. George home so he could rest, while I went and had my car serviced. We have now hit over 5100 miles on this trip. Here are a few pictures of the coast...

Bishop preaching - story behind the Bishop part

Altar call shot from the back

Boy did we have some church today at The Sanctuary!! Bro. Erskine preached powerfully this morning on "Freedom's Recipe". It was an exceptional message on deliverance and the main ingredient for freedom is the truth. "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Packed out house this morning with several renewings this morning and a powerful altar call.

Tonight, God simply blew our minds! We were just cruising along, having good service, when all of the sudden it hit! Bro. Erskine was talking and spoke that somebody could receive the Holy Ghost right then. People started coming out of their seats and with a matter of just a few minutes, God filled 3 people with the Holy Ghost just like that! It was so awesome! This has to be one of the craziest churches, when it comes to praising and worshipping, that I have ever been in. Bro. George then concluded the service by preaching! It was an awesome service and boy do I have some stories coming from Newport, Nc...but until later...pictures coming tomorrow...
